Yoga Sutra 1-4
“Otherwise (if one hasn’t found inner peace) the vrittis cause the indwelling Self to assume many (outward) forms.
Your “vrittis” or “desires” can cause things to happen. Until you learn to attain inner calmness, your “vrittis” or (inclinations, attachments) can self-define you as you are not truly meant to be seen.
The writer gave us this as an example: “We can tell ourselves I am ________. None of that is true. We are the immortal, ever changeless Atman, the Supreme Self.”
Point being, we are not our “vrittis”, you are not what you desire, those desires only determine our temporary life. We are made from God this is true because all creation itself is only his manifestation. There is something to ponder on this week through the eyes of one that went before us.
