Here we go… Day #1 of Become a Living Prayer Global Sadhana

Standard

jyl-logo

Dear Students and Friends,

You are encouraged to pray for whatever needs support for you or for others with this practice. Remember when doing this mantra that our prayers are not to be asked up directly instead they go through us inward and then as we share with over 20,000 participants in over 76+ countries we are sending our requests for all up in this next 40 days starting on  Yogi Bhajan’s birthday and ending on the 10th anniversary of his passing.
The video is a full long practice however, if you wish to do traditional 11 minutes practice I would stop after 6 minutes and fast forward to 37 minutes of the you tube to finish up with the 2nd mantra and closing prayer.
For the first few days until you learn the mantra I would follow along without doing any poses in conjunction with the mediation after the 3rd day if you wish to add some stretching during I encourage you to do what feels best. The focus is on your inner awareness and your prayerful intention.

If you need assistance please just ask you can reach out with your email and I will get with you personally to address your questions.

Namaste and Satnam,

Kat

Become a living prayer 40 day Global Sadhana #3 starts tomorrow

Dear Students and Friends,

Global Sadhana #3 begins tomorrow. I wanted to invite you to join. Sadhana means accomplishing something (just in case you are wondering). Here is a peak at Become a Living Prayer Sadhana video  to post tomorrow when it starts.

We will be doing the Yin Yoga restorative practice instruction this month at the same time. This prayer Sadhana is a great way for you to get on the mat and do both together. There is no rule stating you need to sit erect although some teachers will say otherwise you will find stretching and remaining in your postures during mediation to be very effective combined.

I usually say to do the Sadhana for 3 days then once you feel a comfort level with the mantra work in your poses at the same time if you choose to do so.

This mantra sends your prayers to God so reach out with your voice and send your requests and see how life adjusts.

I can’t tell you the power of 40 day Global Sadhana it is overpowering at times I have seen it work in my life just the very first 40 days.

Namaste,

Kat

From  our guides Ajeet Kaur and Snatam Kaur in Honor of Yogi Bhajan

Mantra: Ardas Bhaee

Complete Mantra: Guru Ardas Bhaee Amar Das Guru, Amar Das Guru, Ardas Bhaee, Ram Das Guru, Ram Das Guru, Ram Das Guru, Sachee Sahee

Language:Gurmukhi

Translation: The prayer has been given to Guru Amar Das.
The prayer is manifested by Guru Ram Das.
The miracle is complete.

More Information: Guru Amar Das is the energy of grace and hope when there is no hope. Guru Ram Das is the energy of miracles, healings and blessings. This is the prayer to answer all prayers.

Comments: Guru is that which directs one from (gu) darkness to (ru) light; from ignorance to the experience of one’s infinite nature. The Ardaas Bahee mantra may be translated, ‘The prayer that has been made to Guru Amar Das is guaranteed by Guru Ram Das.’ This is the mantra for answered prayers.

Guru Amar Das is the third of the Sikh Gurus. He lived from 1479 to 1574. He is said to embody generosity and equality. Guru Ram Das, his son-in-law, is the fourth of the Sikh Gurus. He lived from 1534 until 1581. He is said to embody humility, loving service and compassion.

Ram means ’servant of the Lord.’ If you ask something of Guru Ram Das he has to bring it to God for you. Give your worries to Guru Ram Das and let him take them to God. The God that rotates the earth can certainly take care of your problems!

“Normally there is no power in the human but the power of prayer. And to do prayer, you have to put your mind and body together and then pray from the soul. Ardas Bahee is a mantra prayer. If you sing it, your mind, body and soul automatically combine and without saying what you want, the need of the life is adjusted. That is the beauty of this prayer.” — Yogi Bhajan

Yoga and positive vibes in a fishing cottage!

Dear Students and Friends,
Cute story. In July I went to a fishing cottage on the West Coast of FL for a week. I just can’t pass up the opportunity to go into the artsy little gift and consignment shops. While checking out at a little shop I met this wonderful sales women who happened to be a gypsy named Gracie.

Of course I was fascinated I had never had met a real live gypsy she had the look, the outfit and the jewels. Being Irish growing up in N.J. and N.Y. you hear stories of Irish travelers and the gypsies but I actually had the pleasure of holding an adult conversation with her about the area and her life as an artist and a gypsy.
She looked really serious with me at one point in our chat and told me that she knows that I will be back again and we would run into each other this was not the last time she would see me and said that she could just tell.

Fast forward 6 weeks later I am guess where? Back at this little village 3 hrs from my house spending another weekend. Gracie had been on my mind just minutes prior and I had just finished a conversation with my husband trying to recall her name calling her Angela in my conversation. Ten minutes later as fate dictates I am once again perusing the shelves at a different nautical treasure shop and I turn around to ask the clerk if she had a book on the city and guess who is smiling at me? Gracie and I said to her; “Didn’t we meet last month at the other shop and isn’t your name Angela?” and she said “Gracie” and took my hand to say hello. We had a great catch up.
She told me she will be in another place when I come back next time and I will see her around when I come back and that she lives nearby to where I was staying.

Talk about being able to just have instinctive readings on someone she said I’d be back and that we would meet again soon and we did. I was really perplexed how we met up again, fate.

I know sometimes life can seem mundane. As my gypsy traveler friend Gracie travels I thought to myself there is a little gypsy in each of us. We have to dare to try something different in our life that will shake what is normal and mundane and awaken us spiritually. This will only benefit us whether it is spontaneous traveling or a new type of exercise, or just reading a good novel of a different genre or signing up and learning a new hobby. Just do something and watch what transpires when you jump away from your normal safe zone as you transform.

As for me, I’ll keep a smile on my face and remember that nothing is by chance thank you Gracie!

I have shared 2 videos for you during my little time in the village this past weekend and also a background on my decision to learn yoga and why you should make the commitment to betterment in your life. You can only go up from here. You know I say it is all about the journey and not the destination but I also have to believe now after this past weekend that somethings are predestined.

Namaste my sweet friends,
Kat

40 Day Global Milestone

Standard

jyl-logo

Dear Students and Friends,

Just about at one month into the new Sadahana. By now you should be able to chant without the glorious music from Ashana and this mantra should be memorized. My husband told me he found himself humming the music so I know it can be done!

My 2 cats continue steadfast in their chanting behind me and it truly relaxes them after 3 minutes and they go back to napville. I just wanted to share with you that I have found doing some stretching during the mediation also can be done without losing concentration. The first time I sat in mediation for 40 days I could not really do both easily without distraction but now into this 2nd 40 day I find when I am stiff from sitting (I work online 10 hrs a day at my desk) that if I stretch during the 11 minutes that I feel an even stronger connection emotionally and physically.

Do what works for you.

Starting in September we will be studying Yin Yoga so please stay tuned.
Here is something you can do right now while it’s the dog days of summer and remember the book is at Amazon under Kathleen Wendorf.
Namaste,
Guru Kat
