Dear Students and Friends,
Just wanted to share a light funny fact with you. Animals do meditate. While doing my meditation I begin with OM chanting and Miss Darcy St. Patty my newest addition to our cat family runs into my yoga area and begins to repeat meowing out her version of OM. I will try to video it for you and share. Now for all you Iphone users *yes I am Android* today’s post from Ashana during our 40 day Global. This is a story that was shared with us. The take away is I will never buy an Apple product lol seriously every now and again we get a fresh start and “do over”. If we relish in that knowledge it sure makes all the little pesky things seem irrelevant.
Enjoy this story and keep doing the Sadhana.
From Ashana shared email:
Sat nam Global Sadhana Family,
Last night, James’ iPhone went completely dead. We took it to the Apple Store in hopes that they would at least be able to recover his data and contacts. No such luck. Due to some mysterious technological ailment, all of his pictures, notes, contacts, in short, everything on his phone for the last two years was rendered inaccessible. All they could do was shake their heads sadly and invite him to pick out a new phone. “What color? Silver, Black or Gold?”
Wow. All his pictures from the last two years of our life. Gone. All the text messages from me he had saved since the very first day we met. Gone. All the voicemails he had saved from all the times I had called to tell him how much I love him. Gone. All his passwords to get into all his cyberplaces. Gone. All his phone numbers and contacts. Gone. He hadn’t backed up his phone so it was in the hands of the Apple Gods as to what, if anything, would turn up on the new phone. There was only one thing he could do … Surrender and Let Go.
As we walked out of the store, we talked about how this could be a blessing. An opportunity to start off with a clean slate. “Now you have all this room on your phone for me to call you and leave you new messages!” I said. I thought about how much more I love him now than I did when we first met. And how much fun I would have leaving new messages that would hold that energy.
It’s amazing to me that this happened during this sadhana. Cleaning the slate. Letting go of the past. Making room for new messages, new memories, new images, new ideas.
It’s the Guru Ram Das upgrade!
