I wanted to share with you my contest entry for Greenleaf Dollhouse 2012 contest. This is “Kitty West” my very first dollhouse. I always had a love of all things miniature and wanted to to do a hobby that involved the practice of Karma Yoga. When I make my dollhouses they will be given to children/charity. I will keep this one in my office as a reminder that with faith and perseverance all things are possible.
Going forward after I make a dollhouse I will be donating them to children awaiting adoption through a society in Central Florida. My heart goes out to each child waiting for a “forever home” and I feel this a way to wrap my love around them and let them enjoy something made special just for them. I will be making them for boys and girls all different types.
This house was named “Kitty West” based on the architecture of the typical old school shotgun style Florida Cracker house found in Key West. After living in Key West for a year I just envisioned this project when I started out from bare wood.
Karma yoga (Sanskrit: कर्म योग), or the “discipline of action” is a form of yoga based on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, a sacred Sanskrit scripture of Hinduism. Of the four paths to realization, karma yoga is the process of achieving perfection in action. Karma yoga is an intrinsic part of many derivative types of yoga, such as Natya Yoga. Karma yoga is often understood as a yoga of selfless (altruistic) service.
We are all capable of some talent whether small or large that can be of use to others. I encourage you to reach within and find your potential and do good for those around you.
