Body Swap!

So you’ve seen the Lifetime Network show “Wife Swap” and if your anything like me you’ve

thought to yourself  “what gives?”. I mean how do you actually expect two different families to

suddenly improve their quality of life when you have switched the main component for one who

has no idea about what goes on in that actual home?  Simply put “Mommy”.

Personally I don’t get the principal behind that series but recently I had it on the boob tube

as there was absolutely nothing else of interest available to watch. So my curiosity once again

prevailed itself and I had to try to understand just why people are interested in swapping out.

This episode  my husband Ira had an opportunity to view with me and he found it to be somewhat

humorous especially when the grown husband started crying over all he had to accomplish in his

chores list handed to him by his newly traded in wife!

Then it came to me a moment of enlightenment I finally figured out why this show makes  sense.

The reason for the “swap” on the show just as in life is to bring fourth a new way of seeing,

thinking and being to let go and change bad habits and to add a new approach.

Well I am here to offer you a chance to swap out. No not partners, mine said he is quite

content being my side-kick and more than that I’d be trying to micro-manage her from the other

parties house because some of us have to be in control.  Instead what I am proposing promises

to change your life.  I want to talk to you about a New Year’s resolution to “Body Swap”, no

hocus pocus the real deal and it’s not a reality show. No, sorry viewers you won’t find Kim

Kardashian reading my blog or any Angie’s list here and certainly not one ounce of judgment.

More than that my blog speaks to all beings women, men, whatever your gender, all are welcome to

listen, participate, learn and ultimately grow along with us. However if your addicted to

reality celebrities  you just may find the Housewives of New Jersey cast following this blog

simply because they are my Face Book friends and I am a native New Jersian after all!

There are many different types of people. If you are  a man or a woman that is sick of giving

yourself disapproving looks in your bathroom mirror. Or  maybe you can’t bare to open the

Victoria’s Secret or GQ magazine to stare at the highly publicized models knowing darn well

your abs and  butt is not going to look anywhere near the same when you buy the latest sexy

clothes forget about it!

If you are absolutely fortunate to be in love with your body and spend your free time trying on

the latest  at Dillard’s. Yes we know who you are, you are the men whom look so polished that

if we sneezed you’d fall over, and  the women oh don’t get me started you know who you are and

we are those ones across from you in the other changing rooms,  silently admire running your

hands down your Jay Lo hips in front of the mirror. Admit it we have all been in that situation

at least once. I am here to tell you that you should embrace what you fear most because we are

all part of a much bigger union (yoga) then ourselves and we are all equally beautiful with

inquire characteristics and should embrace each other with support, love and admiration.

The Sanskrit word yoga has the literal meaning of “yoke”, from a root yuj meaning to join, to

unite, or to attach. As a term for a system of abstract meditation or mental abstraction it was

introduced by Patañjali in the 2nd century BC. Someone who practices yoga or follows the yoga

philosophy with a high level of commitment is called a yogi or yogini.

No matter what your size big, small, tiny or tall I have news for you everyone with a little

effort and a lot of belief in yourself you can accomplish the perfect “Body Swap” for 2012 and

I will show you how.

December is a good time for inner reflection being one of the darkest seasons. This is a great

time to quiet a restless mind and find clarity and set fourth a plan for the New Year viola

“Body Swap”.

It  is my promise to you that if you follow along on my blog and put fourth a little effort our

practice together will lead you to your “inner light” or “jyotismati” (Sanskrit).

I have set fourth a beginning exercise that I would like you to practice alone in a quiet area

and then please bookmark my blog and return often to continue on with us as we swap out the old

for the new inside and out as we bring in the New Year in style!

Namaste -It is a customary greeting when individuals meet, and a valediction upon their parting

When spoken to another person, it is commonly accompanied by a slight bow made with hands

pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointed upwards, in front of the chest. This

gesture, called Abhinandan,[1] Añjali Mudrā or Pranamasana, can also be performed wordlessly

and carries the same meaning.

Namaste and Best Wishes for your swap!

Lesson one- See The Light

Step #1 Please find yourself seated in a crossed legged position in a quiet area

Step#2  Take a deep breathe in  through your nostrils and exhale through your nostrils, repeat the following out loud: ” There is a light within me which is free from all suffering and sorrow”. Close your eyes and again repeat Step #2 three times.

Step #3 Cup your hands together in front of your heart and take a deep breathe in through your nostrils and exhale through your nostrils, repeat the following out loud: “I will carry this light into the world and share with others”. Cloe your eyes and again repeat Step #3 three times.

Remain in easy seated pose for five minutes before easing out of the pose.
